Realmwalker Class


Hey all so it's time for April's Class Preview! This is our series of blogs where we discuss our Classes and their design intentions. With each blog the Class' updated Playbook is going to be released so the Realmwalker, our version of the F, has received updates!

Realmwalker

Realmwalkers are those who travel the Realms of Creation, forming bonds with those Realms to gain greater power. Realmwalkers are another Half Caster Class which means they share some aspects with the formally mentioned Lore Master Class. 

Core Aspects: This Class following the Ranger.

Unique Aspects: All Classes gain a unique Inspired action and Mark of Fate effect. For the Realmwalkers this allows you to spend a Mark of Fate to apply a Hunter's Insight Action to a target. While your Inspired action, lets you perform any Channel the World Soul action.

Trait of Power

At Level 1 you define the nature of your Character, this is common for all the half casters letting you choose a Trait you gain your abilities from, including what Trait you use for Weapon and Unarmed Strike Attack and Damage Rolls. For the Realmwalker they may choose either Knowledge or Intuition. Realmwalkers can also use their Trait of Power instead of Agility for Torso Armour HT calculations.

Channel the World Soul

This Feature works like the Eternalist's Channel Faith Feature though for Realmwalker your Channel the World Soul actions are our version of Primeval Awareness alongside Nature's Veil an action that will let you briefly become Invisible.

Realmwalker's Bond

With this Feature lets you bond with one of the Realms of Creation, this lets you Study and Seek for 1AP, grants you additional Movement speeds, and gives you and your groups benefits to exploration. You also gain the Realmwalker's Rite that allows you to form bonds with other Realms on your travels, which is one way we sought to delve into the idea of favoured terrain and granting flexibility to them. 

Realmwalker's Path

This Feature lets you refine the kind of Realmwalker you are, the available paths are Path of the Beastkin, Path of the Channeler, Path of the Emissary, Path of the Sage, Path of the Scholar, or Path of the Tracker. These paths let you focus on specific kinds of actions such as benefits to using the Seek, Socialise, and Study Skills, or granting you additional Skills or abilities to interact with animals.

Experienced Hunter

Now at 2nd Level, this Feature grants you the Versatile Fighting Fighting Style Feat, alongside two other Fighting Style Feats and Weapon Focus Properties of one melee Weapon Group and one ranged Weapon Group.

Hunter's Mark

This Feature grants you alot of benefits in terms of the Marked condition. This increases your Critical Hit Scope against the Target, makes it easier to track them, lets you deal additional damage, and lets you reduce the additional damage to apply Hunter's Insight actions similarly to an Oathsworn's Smite Powers. One thing to note is any entity whose Entity Type is associated with a Realm you made a Realmwalker's Bond with, the entity is always considered Marked by you for this Feature.

Path of the Wanderer

This Feature has mirrors with each of the half casters, letting you pick one of three Features to gain, for Realmwalkers this is Primoal Companion, Spellcasting, or Survival Training. The option chosen will find itself being upgraded as the Class progresses, with each one focused around a key playstyle of the Class. A Character can gain a second option through specific Subclass choices, if the Half Caster gains a Subclass at Level 1 like Oathsworn does then they will just gain a second option, whereas if the Class gains a Subclass at Level 3 like the Realmwalker does then if you choose the appropriate subclass you will either gain a second option, or if the option matched your choice then it becomes empowered for focusing on that Playstyle.

Primal Companion, grants you an animal companion. Survival Training grants you additional buffs including additional damage after moving, benefits to stealth and initiative, and some non magical healing. Spellcasting grants you the ability to cast Spells of 1st-Circle and above. 

Realmwalker's Guidance

This Feature grants you some additional Skill Masteries and lets you provide an aura stuff buff to allies using Skills based on to what level you have Learnt the Skill. Mirroring your Realmwalker being an expert passing on their knowledge to others.

Realmwalker's Conclave

At Level 3 you pick an Conclave, as your choose a refined aspect of study to focus upon. This Feature unlocks further Tiers at levels 6, 10, and 14. As covered in the Arcanist Class preview, one difference to note from level 6 onwards is you can choose to either progress through a subclass's 4 tiers or to pick up the first tier of a different subclass. 

Feats

This Feature is first gained at level 4 with further unlocks at levels 8, 12, 16, and 19. Importantly each time you would gain this Feature you can increase one Trait's value by 1 AND gain a Feat. 

Camping Expertise

This Feature at Level 5 grants yo a number of benefits when making camp to assist in survival scenarios or when trying to hide your position from opponents. This also allows you to always recover HP and remove Degrees of the Exhaustion condition even without a Meal.

Hunter's Insight

This Feature grants you +1AP and +1RP, and some movement based benefits. It also allows you to ignore Disadvantage on Attack Rolls against opponents Marked by you.

Multiattack

This is the Extra Attack Feature.

Experienced Wanderer

From 7th level, this grants benefits to your Feature gained with the Path of the Wanderer Feature.

Realmwalker's Step

This Feature focuses on letting you Teleport instead of normal movement when taking the Movement action and Teleport when making attacks.  

At Higher Levels

From here on many Features grant you further upgrades to your manoeuvrability even granting some of these benefits to your allies, your supportive features and masteries of skills, and of course combat potential. Eventually being able to track a Target across the Realms.

Realmwalker Conclaves

There are a number of Conclaves that a Realmwalker can gain access to. 

Beastkin Conclave

This Conclave focuses on getting the most out of fighting alongside animals as well as tending to their needs. This Conclave grants you the Primal Companion Feature and improving their abilities along side your own.

Deep Stalker Conclave

This Conclave focuses on exploring underground regions and fending off the eldritch forces which can be found there. 

Dream Warden Conclave

This Conclave focuses on channelling the power of the Realms of Dreams and bringing it with you on your travels. This Conclave grants you the Spellcasting Feature and altering your spells using the power of imagination and your Dream Domain.

Glimmerveil Conclave

This Conclave focuses on interacting with and negotiating with the Fae Courts, while utilising a special mask to hide your emotions and confound your foes. 

Hunter Conclave

This Conclave focuses on as the name suggests hunting targets, letting you choose between different features to suit the target of your hunt.

Nightmare-Scarred Conclave

This Conclave focuses again focuses on the Realms of Dreams, but in fighting the corruption of the Nightmare, while past encounters with it have scarred you leading to an every spreading corruption of your own form.

Sea Warden Conclave

This Conclave focuses on exploring and protecting the seas and oceans.

Star Wanderer Conclave

This Conclave focuses on exploring outer space and helping you survive in the strange alien environments you may come across out there.

Ruin Diver Conclave

This Conclave focuses on researching lost or ruined locations and entities alongside abilities to help your explorations.

Wilds Stalker Conclave

This Conclave focuses on exploring locations far aware from settled nations. This Conclave grants you the Survival Training Feature and granting you additional exploration themed features.
